  • Offering for sale this rare Chestnut Chickadee bird figurine from Stangl Pottery in New Jersey. This is the #3811 Chestnut Chickadee which was introduced in 1949 and retired in 1965.
    In addition to the Stangl trademark the piece was marked with each decorator’s initials, this one is marked with a BM which indicates that the decorator was not recorded and that it was decorated at the Flemington Factory due to the brown trademark symbol.
    According to the Collector’s Encyclopedia of Stangl Artware, Lamps, and Birds Identification and values, second edition. Page number 129 shows a value of this item at $85.00 – $135.00. This is an heirloom piece that can be handed down for generations and can only increase in value.
