    • Canada British Columbia Nephrite Jade (Polar Jade) Carving of  a WALRUS. Signed and #1292.
    By listed Canadian artist  master carver DAVID WONG – (1937 – 1998).
    Size:    3 1/2″ wide,  6 1/4″ high.
    NO damage – EXCELLENT CONDITION.
    BC jade has a deep, rich color with soft variations.

    The Walrus’ Tusks are carved from Genuine Walrus Tusk.
    This Walrus sculpture was bought directly from David Wong in Vancouver in the 1980’s from Untamed Arts Studio who represented him.

    Died 1998 Vancouver Canada
    His father was a famous painter in China.
    Early on he moved to Hong Kong where he taught sculpture.
    It was the sight of a big block of Canadian BC Jade that made him decide his vocation.
    While holding a law degree he opted for carving Jade and moved to Vancouver BC Canada in 1971.
    He died in 1998.
